March 20 was the Journée Internationale de la Francophonie, the international francophone day, which is held every year to demonstrate commitment to the development of road safety in countries sharing the French language.
The day featured several initiatives including a video clip competition for young francophones, organized by Lasermedia. Read more HERE and see Francophone road safety videos compiled by Lasermedia HERE.
The day also saw an announcement regarding the creation of an endowment fund of the Francophone Alliance for Road Safety. The endowment fund allows French-resident donors, both businesses and individuals, to benefit from significant tax benefits by providing financial support for road risk prevention programs, particularly for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged users.
Francophone NGOs are invited to join the Alliance Francophone pour la Sécurité Routière. Associate membership is free simply by indicating that your organization adhere’s to the Paris Declaration.
Full membership, allowing participation in defining Alliance strategies, programs, and governance is also available. Contact contact@alliancefrancophonesecuriteroutiere.org for more information.
