Alliance welcomed four new members in May 2016

The Alliance is excited to welcome the four new members who joined the Alliance in May:

International Motor Vehicle Inspection Committee (CITA), based in Belgium, plays an influential role in the development and implementation of policies for safe and sustainable road usage across Europe and globally. CITA provides a variety of forums to create, assess, and promote best practice among its member base and shares this information with road safety advocates around the world.

Road Safety Pioneers (RSP) is a grassroots organization based in Iran which aims to reduce the number of road traffic fatalities throughout the country by developing evidence-based projects. RSP conducts training courses for vulnerable road users, engages in public education, and advocates for evidence-based policy changes.

Indian Head Injury Foundation (IHIF) seeks to foster the development of a comprehensive brain trauma care system in India that includes prevention through awareness, effective provision of pre-hospital care, and rehabilitation. IHIF operates two trauma care centers and has trained nearly 1,500 first responders and paramedics in primary trauma care.

The Little Blue Dinosaur Foundation is a child pedestrian road safety organization with a special focus on regional roadways and the school holiday periods in Australia. They are the first foundation in Australia to promote community awareness around “holiday time” road safety. The NGO was founded by Michelle and David McLaughlin after losing their beloved 4-year-old son, Tom, to a pedestrian-vehicle crash while on a family holiday in January 2014.

Please stop by the new members’ profiles on our website for more information about the important work these NGOs do to promote safer roads and reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities around the world.
