Crash Courses in Key Risk Areas

This series of seven webinars bring in member experts in their respective fields to outline key risks and how to reduce them. Areas that will be addressed are found below. Please find more information HERE.

Crash Course 1: Introduction to motorcycle helmets: why it is important to wear a motorcycle helmet, how a helmet protects your head, and how to design a campaign to increase helmet wearing. AIP Foundation, Vietnam, will share their work and provide guidance on how to address motorcycle helmet wearing at a national level (length 32 min). Crash Course 2: Introduction to drunk driving as a risk factor. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), US, will talk about what drunk driving is and how to prevent it. You will learn what BAC levels mean and how they are interpreted in different countries (length 34 min). Crash Course 3: Introduction to speeding as a risk factor. What is speeding and how does lowering the speed help prevent crashes? Where and why is reducing speeding important? And what can be done? Crash Course 4: Introduction to seatbelts. Partnership for Road Safety in Georgia increased seatbelt use from 1% to 98% through a targeted campaign and in partnership with multiple stakeholders. Learn how seat belts protect you, what myths need to be addressed, and the approach that led to their success (length 21 min). Child seat belt use and car restraints are often a neglected area, but in this webinar from Safe Kids Worldwide, you will learn why car seats work and strategies for increasing their use (length 33 Min).
