Jeffrey Witte is Executive Director of Amend, a nongovernmental organization (NGO) that develops, implements, and evaluates evidence-based programs to reduce the incidence of road traffic injury in sub-Saharan Africa. Amend has offices in Tanzania, Mozambique, and Ghana, and projects in a dozen countries across Africa.
Mr. Witte is also the founding and current President of the Board of Directors for the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety. As the Board President, he helps further the Alliance mission to mobilize and empower NGOs working in road safety around the world.
Before starting work in road safety about 10 years ago, Mr. Witte was variously an economics student, a professional musician, and a bartender.
Originally from New York City, Mr. Witte lives in Aix-en-Provence, France, with his wife and sons. Spare-time activities include cooking, reading, hiking, and relaxing with friends and family.
