The Fifth Global Meeting of Nongovernmental Organizations Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims will take place in April. In the past week, Executive Director Lotte Brondum visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The purpose of this visit was to meet and prepare for the meeting with representatives from the Government, visit the venue at Sama-Sama Hotel, fine-tune the agenda and meet with partners. The Global Meeting will be co-hosted by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) and the Ministry of Transportation. It is sponsored by WHO, World Bank, and FedEx, amongst others.
The Global Meeting’s main objective is to share best practices towards the accomplishment of the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as serving as a platform for member organizations to interact, synergize, and learn from one another.
The main meeting is set for 5 and 6 April. On 3 and 4 April 2017, a set of workshops are planned. Here Alliance members will have the opportunity to participate in the workshops of their choice and deepen their knowledge in specific areas of their interest. The topics to be covered in the pre-meetings are suggested by member organizations during the consultation period. We will also be able to offer a few training sessions on 1 and 2 April 2017. Communication regarding topics and selection process will be communicated soon.
