We were saddened to hear of the death of Gayle Di Pietro, former Global Road Safety Program Manager at the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) and a well-known and well-respected member of the global road safety community. On behalf of the Alliance NGOs, we send our condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues.
Reflecting on Gayle’s impact, Rochelle Sobel, Alliance Chair, said, “Gayle was a wonderful human being and a great champion of road safety. She was articulate, highly capable and energetic and utterly devoted to protecting lives on the world’s roads. Gayle was a true leader and under her leadership GRSP made significant strides in many countries. On a personal level, she embraced life with great enthusiasm and a wonderful spirit of adventure. I always admired her so much.”
