Registration and abstract submission is now open for Safety 2016–the 12th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion. The conference will be held 18-21 September 2016 in Tampere, Finland with the theme “from research to implementation.” It is hosted by the National Institute for Health and Welfare of Finland, among others, and co-sponsored by the World Health Organization.
The World Conference focuses on the global burden of injuries—both violent and unintentional—and brings together leaders in the field of injury prevention including renowned researchers, policy-makers, practitioners, and advocates from around the world to discuss and share information in order to best address this prominent health concern. The last World Conference was held in New Zealand in 2012 and included participation from more than 1000 experts representing 58 countries.
Conference topics at Safety 2016 will include, broadly: risk factors, high risk groups, injuries and their causes, violence and trauma care, and other relevant topics. Conference organizers are now accepting abstract submissions relating to the topics above, to be presented at the conference.
The deadline for abstract submission is 1 November 2015.
The deadline for early bird registration for the conference is 16 May 2016.
