This week, the #SaveKidsLives campaign reached its goal of gathering 1 million signatures to the Child Declaration on Road Safety! This is a tremendous accomplishment. The Alliance and the #SaveKidsLives campaign partners would like to extend a huge thank you to all Alliance members who rallied the remaining signatures to reach this goal, as well as to all Alliance members who contributed to the campaign this year. The campaign started with a humble goal of 100,000 signatures to the Declaration, and we have far exceeded initial expectations. With 1 million signatures, the Child Declaration on Road Safety presents an incredibly strong message to global leaders to take road safety seriously and prioritize action as we strive to reach the goals outlined in the 2030 Development Agenda.
These signatures will be presented at the upcoming 2nd Global High-Level Conference on Road Safety in Brasilia, Brazil. If you are attending the conference, be sure to participate in the NGO Rally for Safer Roads, where we will reflect on the accomplishments of the #SaveKidsLives campaign so far and discuss next steps to promote global accountability to the Child Declaration. Congratulations to all contributors!
