“Eighty-two World Day of Remembrance events were held in 41 countries. Throughout India 15 events were held and in Nigeria 4”. says Brigitta Chaudhry from Federation of Traffic Victims (FEVR) who are the connecting point for individuals and organisations who wish to join the day. “We have still more information to enter and are expecting further submissions” she says.
World Day of Remembrance for Traffic Victims was commemorated on 16 November 2014. FEVR runs the World Day of Remembrance website where posters, videos, speeches were made available and everyone could registrar their events.
“Again this year it was very exciting to receive information of so many special events held all over the world”, says Brigitta.
The World Day of Remembrance website had visitors from 158 countries, which is the highest number ever.
“We now have 350 days to prepare for the next World Day – 15th November 2015 – and make it even more widely known, in our own countries and globally, says Brigitta. “We will keep in contact through the World Day social media sites – please join if you have not done so yet”
