The Global Meeting of Nongovernmental Organizations Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims (Global Meeting) is the primary NGO-led road safety and safe mobility gathering globally. It incorporates capacity building, inspiration, and networking opportunities. The Global Meeting is where we mobilize together as NGOs alongside the road safety community to trigger stronger action to reduce road deaths by 50% by 2030 and call for action to guarantee every person has the right to guaranteed safe, affordable, accessible, sustainable mobility.
The Global Meeting is usually held every two years. It takes a hybrid format enabling in-person attendance and an online option.

The ninth Global Meeting will hold in Morocco in February 2025. It will take place in the immediate lead up to the Ministerial Meeting on Road Safety, setting the stage for specific outcomes and commitments. . Read more.
The Eighth Global Meeting was held in El Salvador in March 2023. It was a hybrid format to enable the maximum number of members to benefit from the sessions and networking opportunities. Read more.
The Seventh Global Meeting was held 21–25 March 2022 in Budapest, Hungary.
The Global Meeting aimed mobilized NGOs to call on their governments to allocate adequate investment to implement people-centered evidence-based action to save lives. Highlights from the Global Meeting included workshops, regional calls to action, panel discussions, and the General Assembly.
The Sixth Global Meeting was held 9–13 April 2019 and was attended by 270 participants including NGOs and road safety stakeholders from 76 countries around the world.
Highlights included workshops, training, the poster exhibition opened by Jean Todt, the High-Level Symposium, the presentation of the FedEx Road Safety Award, UN Global Road Safety Week event, photo exhibition and the preparations for UN Global Road Safety Week and the Third Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Sweden 2020. The Fifth Global Meeting of Nongovernmental Organizations Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims was held 3 – 6 April 2017 at the Sama-Sama Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Global Meeting aimed at to facilitating members’ continued involvement in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and preparation for key road safety key events in 2017. It was hosted by the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety and the Malaysian Ministry of Transport and co-sponsored by the World Health Organization, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, Global Road Safety Facility, World Bank, FedEx and Prudence Foundation Learn more here.
In March 2015, more than 170 delegates from over 52 countries representing 100 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) gathered in Marrakech, Morocco at the Zalagh Kashbar Hotel & Spa in Marrakech, Morocco for the 4th Global Meeting of Nongovernmental Organizations Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims.
The meeting was hosted by the Moroccan National Committee for Prevention of Road Accidents and was sponsored by FedEx, the Road Safety Fund, the World Bank’s Global Road Safety Facility, and Allianz. Learn more here.
